My analysis of The Most Dangerous Game
Richard Connell wrote "The Most Dangerous Game" a suspenseful story about a crazy man who hunts people. Connell used foreshadowing clues and made the readers make predictions as he created this unbelievable story about a hunter who was bored hunting regular animals and started hunting humans.
Connell’s story starts with Rainsford, a celebrated hunter, falling off of a yacht and landing on the private island of a rich and blood thirsty hunter, General Zaroff. Rainsford was dismayed and sickened to realize that General Zaroff hunted men and that he was being asked to join in. When he refused to play Zaroff’s game, he became the prey and Ivan, General Zaroff and the dogs began to hunt him. Zaroff gave Rainsford a 3 hour headstart and then proceeded to try to hunt him down. Rainsford was able elude Zaroff and set several several traps. Rainsford killed some of Zaroff’s dogs, his right hand man, Ivan and in the end he killed Zaroff.
The climax of the story occurred when Rainsford refused to hunt with General Zaroff and became the hunted for General Zaroffs’s last great hunt. Connell filled the story with conflicts…

Create a PhotoMovie
I allowed them to choose a story to use as a basis for a photomovie using PhotoPeach.com. They were to included pictures and text that related the story back to the person viewing their photomovie.
I told them that the viewer should be able to get the gist of the story from looking at their movies.
Reflection/Analysis of the assignment:
Some of the movies were AWESOME and the majority were OK. I noticed that many forgot to "tell a story" with pictures and just included pictures with NO story present.
The majority of the kids liked this assignment more than the usual book report.
Oh well. Next time I plan to do the same assignment but stress the need for them to tell a story more.
